Time of game: game development and student matching

At MIT Education Arcade we spent more that 10 years on developing educational games, that are connected with the life of the players, artefacts, that are part of their life at school and home, stimulating curiosity and determination, making dreams and fantasies come to life. Based on our experience of developing, implementing and analysing games, we formulated a set of principles to develop "explosive" games, siutable both for classrooms and out-of-school activities. The presentation will prove games effective to create a positive and impactful educational experience, and we will also share key principles to develop "explosive" games based on the data analysis.
