The first video conference with humanoid robot Nadine from Singapore
Amazing, but true! The first video conference with humanoid robot Nadine from Singapore will be held on the 15th October within the framework of Open Innovations Forum.
Nadine was created by the Director of the Institute of Media Innovation of Nanyang Technological University Nadia Magnenat Thalmann.
Nadine can recognize persons and their voices and also speaks several languages. Among other Nadine’s skills can be distinguished the following: she remembers phrases that she has ever heard and is able to express emotions and gesticulate. Nadine is a very kind and thoughtful robot, which can act as assistant for elderly people and seriously ill patients.
«We call them robots-companions. They can look after elderly people and children, help out around the house or take on service roles in the office. Very soon such androids as Nadine will be able to work in the medicine and healthcare spheres, for example, take care of seriously ill», notes Nadia Magnenat Thalmann, the creator of Nadine.
On the 17th of November Nadia Thalmann together with other successful young scientists will participate in Fireside-talk, where the future of smart machines and their role in modern medicine will be discussed.
